Hardware programming has a reputation for being difficult to get started and intimidating. But through this innovative partnership with Adafruit, we've managed to give you all the tools you need to build your own hardware projects.

What is hardware programming exactly?
The term hardware programming is an umbrella term that relates to controlling electronic devices spanning smartphones, satellites, to blue-tooth headsets. Nearly everything in the digital world we physically touch has a hardware component to it. All these different pieces of hardware require programming which is where CircuitPython comes into play.

CircuitPython is a Python-based language designed specifically for programming hardware, giving you the ability to create programs that interact with hardware sensors and other external components. That's what makes learning and building your own hardware so exciting: you can make custom applications useful to your everyday life.

What can you build with a Circuit Playground Express?
The real question is, "What can't you do?" This device comes equipped with LED lights, temperature/light/motion sensors, audio speaker, memory, and ability to connect to other hardware (like circuit boards or your computer). You'll put all of these components to use in our new Learn CircuitPython course.

Through our projects, we will teach you how to program a bike light, measure moisture levels in your house plant, and make music with fruits (it's gonna be bananas). Not convinced? Check out our livestream today at 1:30pm EST—our curriculum developer Sonny will walk through the bike light project.

Bonus Video: Working with Code Written by Someone Else

The further you get in your coding journey, the more complex projects you'll do, and the more likely you are to work with code written by someone else. Transitioning from being 100% DIY writing your own things from scratch to working as part of a team or as a successor to a project started by others can be really hard. We have ten tips that could save you a headache when the time comes. Follow Along P.S. Be the first to see new videos as soon as they're released: subscribe to our YouTube channel.
