New Lessons in Learn C#!

Last time we released our Learn C# course, we interviewed C# developers on how they currently use the language at work and why C# is valuable. This time around, we came up with three of our own reasons why you should learn C#:

  1. You'll be in good company. According to Stack Overflow 2019 Developer Survey, 67% of professional developers love C#. While the survey doesn't hone in on exactly why, we suspect it has to do with the language's object oriented nature and extensive documentation.
  2. You get your bang for your buck. You can use C# to create mobile applications for both iOS and Android instead of having to use Java and Swift for the different operating systems. With Xamarin as your framework, you can code in C# and compile both for iOS and Android.
  3. If you've ever want to create your own video game, C# is the language for you. It is used in Unity, one of the most powerful game engines on the market. With Unity, you can design the look and feel of your video game with your code seamlessly and deploy to over 25 platforms.

Now that you're convinced, we've added two additional units to our Learn C# course, teaching topics like logic and methods (a type of function). After you tackle the lessons, take on the Architect Arithmetic project. With this project you'll use your new-found knowledge of methods to build a program that calculates the material cost for an architect's floor plan. Tune in to our livestream this Wednesday 6/5 at 1:30pm EST as the creators of our Learn C# course, Nick and Zoe, will walk through the Architect Arithmetic project and take any questions you may have.
