New Course: Learn Phaser!   Set Phasers to Game!   Like Star Trek, Codecademy is exploring new frontiers. We've taught millions of people how to query data, design websites, and now we are thrilled to introduce you to Phaser—a popular gateway into game development.   Our new Learn Phaser course will show you how to create delightful web-based games while also helping you build a valuable technical skill set. The games you'll build in this course are inspired by arcade classics like Space Invaders.   Space Invaders with Codey from Codecademy.   If you aren't familiar, Phaser is a fun-filled JavaScript framework that utilizes the HTML5 canvas element to enable browser-based games. Phaser skills provide you an excellent way to add creative projects to your coding portfolio. For example, compared to static HTML and JavaScript websites, using Phaser demonstrates your ability to create a continuously interactive web experience.   Learn Phaser kicks off by teaching you how to draw objects and recognize keyboard events in your game before covering more complex topics like simulating gravity and calculating a score. By the end, you'll have learned the fundamentals of how to use Phaser to build your own fun games.   Looking for inspiration before you get started? Our Curriculum Developers, Kenny and Tim, will be hosting a livestream today at 1:30pm EST. They will walk through the steps of using Phaser to create a game reminiscent to Frogger and will be taking questions from learners like you throughout.
